Legacy Giving

Respond to God's Grace with Gratitude

A Legacy Gift to Westminster symbolizes a deeply felt response to God's grace. It is often the ultimate gift made over a lifetime of generosity, and represents careful planning and prayerful consideration. A Legacy Gift can provide income, financial security, and significant tax savings to a donor and family or heirs.

A gift of $5,000 from Charles Thompson established the church's endowment in 1914. Since then Westminster members have generously added to it through bequests in their wills, annuities, trusts, life insurance, and in many other ways.

Legacy Gifts can be restricted to the endowment, or unrestricted. Unrestricted gifts are preferred because they offer maximum future flexibility. Unrestricted Legacy Gifts are currently allocated by Trustees to the Open Doors Open Futures initiative.
