Planned Giving

Melissa Anne (May) Rogers '94

"Because I work in pastoral care and share in many experiences with those who are dying, I know how fragile this beautiful life is and feel compelled to make sure I can give thanks - in life and in death. Because others had this understanding, my seminary education was supported by their generosity. Now I have an opportunity to leave a lasting gift for future students."

Melissa Anne (May) Rogers '94 has been the associate pastor for pastoral care and congregational life at the First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor, Michigan, since 2005. A trained marital and family therapist, she has also worked as a family grief and crisis counselor for Hospice of Lansing. Many people do not consider making a bequest until they have worked many years. Rogers, only a few years out of Seminary, was already regularly donating to the Seminary's annual fund, when, at the age of 28, she included Princeton Theological Seminary in her will.

"Princeton Seminary provided me with a world-class education. I will never take that for granted. It is still, and must always be, a world-class leader in the theological education in the world. Princeton Seminary provided more blessings than I could ever return, helping me to grow and thrive. Even now, the gifts are unfolding in ever new ways."
